Roots and Recipes Draft

My Grandma's dish of spaghetti with her mouth-watering sauce which was made from love and hard-work has been known in the family for a few years now, Her traditonal dish was 1st started around 1957 which was around the time she bought the house. She usually makes it for special occasions, mostly for birthdays or if she's in a good mood and there's some kind of event that is coming up.

As my Grandma puts the dried spaghetti in clean water until it absorbs water to the point that you can see the water visibly evaporate from the bowl and you can see the spaghetti thicken from the absorbed water, She then boils the starchey spaghetti that is sticking together, She then puts it carefully inside a clean strainer and thoroughly washes it in warm water to ensure the starch doesn't make the spaghetti stick together. She then makes the mouth-watering sauce which is emphasized by ingredients that she adds. She adds the main ingredient which is of course tomato sauce, she then adds all of these mysterious ingredients that someone who doesn't cook would probably not even know of. She then puts the somewhat hot spaghetti in a bowl and pours that fresh-off-the-oven heat and taste that makes the sauce taste better that slowly drips down and she tries to be careful for the amount so there isn't to much or too litle on the spaghetti.

  1. I like how you used good sensory details but I think you need to explain what house in the first paragraph and also what special occasion is coming up and explain in detail. Really it's amazing how you use sensory detail but I think you should explain more on what is the memory attached to this dish about, also I think you should add more. Overall GOOD JOB

  2. you need to add alot more of personal connection than just simply stating how it is made. What special occasions, why do you like it, what does it mean to you. Please add more of your own story to it. Also try to incorporate your interview answers that you got.
